Yesterday, May 18, 2009, is a very important date for the Roman Catholic Church for it was the the 89th Anniversary of Pope John Paul II the Great’s birth. Serving as Pope for more than 26 years, he has changed the life of many Roman Catholic. He was able to touch our hearts, became a good example, and gave us hope and inspiration. Many tried to assasinate him, but he survived all those near-death experiences. In life, as in death, he was a larger-than-life pontiff worthy of the title John Paul the Great.

Heart Disease among Women

Many women think that breast canser is a bigger threat than heart disease. But according to 2004 data from the Philippine National Statistics Office, heart diseases and stroke are the top 2 leading causes of death among Filipino women in the country. Females become equally at risk with men when we reach menopause and the estrogen hormones get depleted. This should be taken as something very serious. For middle-aged women, taking action is particularly important.

Most Filipinos doesn’t know the difference between an ordinary powdered milk and an adult drink. Most Filipinos opt to buy powdered milk for it’s way down cheaper than adult drinks. What they don’t know is that adult drinks contain the right amount of vitamins and minerals that an adult is expected to take daily, and that’s what the big difference is. And usually, these adult drink has less cholesterol and had no transfat. Moreover, it aids digestion and helps boost our resistance against sickness.

Summer out, Rain in

It was just last week when the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) proclaimed that summer season here in the Philippines has already ended.. And indeed they are right! Of course! They are experts..haha! But really, it rains every afternoon here in the Philippines and the breeze is already cold. Good thing that the sun is still up during the day time which helps me convince myself that it is still a summer season.
