Paying up your Taxes

May

Taxes are the life blood of the nation. A country could not do its function without its people paying up their taxes. But what happen in the Philippines is that most Filipinos are discouraged to pay taxes or pay the right taxes because their mentality is that the taxes that they paid only goes to the personal use of government officials. But whether or not our taxes are corrupted or not, my point is that, as mature and responsible individuals, we should pay the right taxes that we are expected to pay. It’s now up to our government officials’ conscience if they will give it back to us through public projects or they will use it personal use.

We all know how important breastfeeding is for our babies. But unfortunately, not all women are gifted with a breast that is graciously producing enough milk that our babies could drink. However, it was just recently when I was able to read from a book that there are already a breastfeeding coaches that offer their services in helping lactating women to produce more milk for their babies. Technically, we call them “lactation consultant”. Usually, these coaches are members of organizations who crusades for breastfeeding. Me, I’m one of the gifted ones. In fact, I’m still breastfeeding my second daughter even though she’s already one year old.

During my college days, I really hard time dealing with traitors; what I usually do about it, I cry myself out in a corner with no one to comfort me. The traitors whom I’m referring to are those insensitive people whom you thought are your friends, but you just realize that they are not really your friends when they left you hanging on a cliff instead of helping you out. Now, I have learned my lesson. I now try to choose carefully the people to consider as my friends. And in handling with traitors, I won’t cry now, instead, I’ll get even!

Single Parenthood

May

Premarital pregnancies are very rampant nowadays and because of that, single parenthood is now “almost” accepted in the society. Well, I say it’s “almost” because the church still does not tolerate for women to be in such complicated situation. But as to women’s point of view, it’s better to be a single parent rather than marry the father of your child when you’re not ready and suffer or regret in the end. And I salute the women who are single parents! Real things are different from what Beyonce’s song says: “If you like it then you should’ve put a ring on it”. Rather, it should be “If you love him, and he loves you back then both of you could put a ring on it”.
